If you know me even a little you know how I love the Spring wildflower season in the Smokies. I've been watching with envy the wildflower photos from the Park in my Facebook feed, worrying that I've missed the peak time for our annual wildflower walk (see here and here for just two samples).
But I forget, sometimes, that our little neighborhood gives us a good gauge for what's blooming, and I just have to walk down the driveway and across our little dirt road to the branch whose name--if there is one--I never knew, and if I look carefully among the leaf litter and forest debris, I can see the first wave, our garden of Trout Lily.
Perhaps a walk is in order for the weekend.
I've started walking down to Fisher Creek and back and see all sorts of sweet flowers on Grapevine Lane.
